BANGKOK — Hotel101 Global Holdings Corp. has signed definitive binding agreements with Thai property developer Origin Property PCL to jointly develop a roughly 770-room hotel in Bangkok, marking the Philippine-based hospitality group's latest expansion in Southeast Asia and its entry into Thailand's hotel market.
The companies said on Wednesday that the project, to be known as Hotel101-Bangkok, will be built on an 8,336-square-meter site along Phahon Yothin Road, near Don Mueang International Airport and adjacent to the Yaek Kor Por Aor BTS station. The development is expected to be completed by 2029, according to the companies.
Hotel101 Global, a Nasdaq-listed hospitality platform and a subsidiary of Philippine-listed DoubleDragon Corp., said the project forms part of its international expansion strategy through joint ventures with local developers. Origin Property, listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, will serve as its local partner in the Bangkok development.
The company said the Bangkok hotel is expected to generate about 1.925 billion baht (approximately $58 million) in sales revenue once all units are sold under its standardized "condotel" business model, in which individual hotel units are sold while the property is operated as a single hotel. The project is also expected to rank among Bangkok's three largest hotels by room count upon completion, according to Hotel101 Global.
The planned property will offer four-star accommodation and include meeting and conference facilities, an all-day dining restaurant, a swimming pool, fitness center, business center and children's pool, the company said.
Hotel101 Global founder Edgar "Injap" Sia II said in a company statement that the Bangkok project represents another milestone in the group's international expansion, while Origin Property Chief Executive Officer Peerapong Jaroon-ek said the partnership combines Origin's experience in Thailand's property sector with Hotel101's standardized hospitality model.
The Bangkok venture follows the opening of Hotel101-Madrid in Spain earlier this year, the company's first operating property outside the Philippines. Hotel101 Global also plans to open its 482-room Hotel101-Niseko in Japan later this year and said it intends to add more than 2,200 hotel rooms globally during 2026, including projects in the Philippines.
Hotel101 Global has said it aims to expand through joint ventures and licensing agreements as it pursues a long-term goal of operating one million hotel rooms across 100 countries.
