The assessment emerged across a series of expert sessions and industry events held this week, where cybersecurity specialists examined how AI-enabled systems are being integrated into threat detection, incident response and critical infrastructure protection while also creating new risks that adversaries may exploit.

At an event hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies scheduled for July 15, panelists are set to discuss the growing use of AI to automate threat analysis, identify network intrusions and accelerate defensive responses. Meanwhile, technology vendors outlined initiatives aimed at expanding AI-assisted cyber defenses. Britain's National Cyber Security Centre recently described plans for an AI-powered "Cyber Shield" intended to help detect vulnerabilities, analyze threats and coordinate defensive actions across critical sectors, while emphasizing that trust, transparency and information sharing would be central to implementation.
