KYIV — Ukrainian officials have acknowledged an intensification of drone operations targeting Russian-occupied Crimea, as part of a broader campaign to disrupt military logistics in the region.
The Unmanned Systems Forces reported conducting strikes on more than 60 Russian targets across occupied Crimea and the southern front in a single night this week, according to statements from Ukrainian military officials. Targets included air defense systems, fuel storage facilities, electrical infrastructure and reconnaissance drones on the ground.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and Unmanned Systems Forces Commander Robert Brovdi have publicly referenced the ongoing efforts to isolate Crimea through drone strikes on supply routes, bridges and energy assets. Brovdi stated that the campaign aims to degrade Russia's ability to use the peninsula for military operations.
