WASHINGTON — The White House on Monday released details of a series of presidential actions signed by President Donald Trump, including proclamations granting temporary regulatory relief for certain industrial facilities, changes to the boundaries of two national monuments in Utah, and nominations submitted to the U.S. Senate, according to official White House announcements.
The administration said the regulatory relief measures provide a two-year exemption from certain Environmental Protection Agency requirements for facilities involved in producing chemicals used in semiconductor manufacturing, medical-device sterilization, advanced manufacturing and national defense systems. The White House said the proclamations allow eligible facilities to comply temporarily with standards that predated regulations adopted during the previous administration while continuing operations considered important to national security.
According to a White House fact sheet, the administration argued the exemptions are intended to reduce compliance burdens that it said could disrupt production in industries critical to defense, health care and advanced manufacturing. The administration said the action reflects its broader policy of reducing federal regulations while maintaining environmental protections it considers achievable.
The White House also announced proclamations modifying the boundaries of the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments in Utah. The announcements were listed among the presidential actions released on July 13, although the administration's public index did not immediately provide additional details alongside the listings.
In addition, the administration transmitted a new slate of nominations to the Senate for positions requiring confirmation, according to the White House's official record of presidential actions.
The package also included a proclamation marking the death of Sen. Lindsey Graham, which appeared in the White House's official list of actions released on Monday. The proclamation was published alongside the other presidential actions without further details in the public index.
The announcements form part of a broader series of executive actions issued by the administration in recent weeks covering regulatory policy, trade, agriculture, technology and federal appointments. Executive orders issued earlier this year have addressed subjects including artificial intelligence, financial regulation, customs enforcement and agricultural resilience.
The White House said the latest proclamations and related actions took effect in accordance with their respective terms. Additional implementation steps, where required, will be carried out by the relevant federal agencies under applicable law.
