NEW YORK — Pop star Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce married in New York on July 3, with the couple spending the Independence Day period largely out of the public eye following the closely guarded ceremony that drew widespread media attention and high-profile guests.

Swift's publicist, Tree Paine, confirmed the marriage in a statement on Friday, ending weeks of speculation over whether the couple would wed during the July Fourth holiday weekend. The ceremony took place at Madison Square Garden, where digital displays outside the venue later read "JUST&T MARRIED!"

According to the statement, the couple did not have traditional bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, Swift's brother, Austin Swift, served as her Man of Honor, while Kelce's brother, former NFL player Jason Kelce, was Best Man. The ceremony was officiated by actor and comedian Adam Sandler.

Christian Dior said both the bride's gown and the groom's attire were custom-designed by creative director Jonathan Anderson in collaboration with the couple. The fashion house described the commission as Anderson's first couture wedding dress for a globally recognized celebrity since taking the role.

The wedding, attended by about 1,000 invited guests according to multiple media reports, was conducted under extensive security measures that included strict privacy protocols. Law enforcement agencies had prepared for the high-profile event after city officials confirmed permits had been issued for a large gathering at the venue.

On July 4, several wedding guests attended New York City's annual Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks celebration, while reports from entertainment media indicated Swift and Kelce spent the holiday privately rather than making a public appearance. Sightings at Swift's Rhode Island property were reported by eyewitnesses, although the couple did not publicly confirm their whereabouts.

Swift, a multi-Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, and Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, began dating in 2023 after Kelce publicly spoke about attempting to give Swift a friendship bracelet during her Eras Tour. The couple announced their engagement in August 2025 and have since remained among the world's most closely followed celebrity pairs.

As of July 6, neither Swift nor Kelce had announced honeymoon plans. Entertainment outlets, citing people familiar with the couple's schedule, reported they are expected to attend another wedding later in July before beginning married life away from the public spotlight.
