ORLANDO, Fla. — The Walt Disney Company marked the United States' 250th anniversary with expanded Independence Day programming and fireworks displays at its domestic theme parks, part of a company-wide initiative that coincided with nationwide America 250 commemorations over the July 4 holiday weekend.

The celebration, branded "Disney Celebrates America," brought together live entertainment, television broadcasts and special park experiences across Disney's businesses, culminating in patriotic fireworks presentations at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California. The initiative forms part of a broader campaign announced in 2025 to commemorate the nation's semiquincentennial through July 4, 2026.

At Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, Disney presented multiple nights of its "Disney's Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky" fireworks spectacular during the holiday weekend, while Disneyland staged the same patriotic nighttime show over three evenings. The extended schedule was designed to accommodate large holiday crowds and commemorate the milestone anniversary.

Disney also expanded patriotic entertainment across its resorts, including musical performances, military band appearances and themed attractions. Among the featured experiences was "Soarin' Across America," introduced as part of the company's America 250 programming at EPCOT and Disney California Adventure.

Beyond its parks, the company coordinated a 24-hour cross-platform broadcast spanning ABC, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, National Geographic and other Disney-owned outlets. According to Disney, the programming included live coverage of anniversary celebrations across all 50 states, entertainment specials and news reports highlighting historical and cultural events associated with the national observance.

ABC also aired special entertainment programming tied to the anniversary, including a nationally televised music celebration featuring performances and a large-scale fireworks and drone display from Nashville. The broadcasts formed part of Disney's wider holiday coverage across its television and streaming platforms.

Chief Executive Officer Robert A. Iger said when announcing the initiative that Disney intended to celebrate the country's history through storytelling, experiences and community engagement while recognizing veterans, military families and local communities. The company said the campaign officially began on Veterans Day in 2025 and concluded with the July 4 holiday weekend.

Disney's events took place alongside official America 250 celebrations across the United States, including national observances in Washington, where large public fireworks displays and commemorative events marked the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
