GLASTONBURY, England — Glastonbury Festival concluded its 2025 edition on Sunday with a series of headline performances that brought the five-day event at Worthy Farm in southwest England to a close, as thousands of music fans gathered for the final day of one of the world's largest contemporary music festivals. Organizers had billed U.S. singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo as the closing Pyramid Stage headliner, following headline performances by English band The 1975 on Friday and Canadian-American musician Neil Young on Saturday.
The annual festival remains one of the most influential events on the international live music calendar, attracting leading artists across rock, pop, electronic, hip-hop and other genres while drawing audiences from Britain and abroad. This year's event also precedes Glastonbury's scheduled fallow year in 2026, when the festival will pause to allow Worthy Farm, the surrounding village and the organizing team time to recover before returning in 2027, according to festival organizers.
Rod Stewart performed the festival's traditional Sunday afternoon Legends slot, marking his first Glastonbury appearance since 2002. The broader lineup also featured artists including Charli XCX, Loyle Carner, Raye and The Prodigy across multiple stages during the weekend, according to the official festival program and organizers.
Festival organizers provided live operational updates throughout Sunday covering crowd management, weather advice and site information as performances continued across the venue. Glastonbury's official website also published photographs and updates from the closing day while advising attendees on departures scheduled for Monday.
The event, first held in 1970, has developed into one of Britain's most prominent cultural gatherings, combining music with theatre, arts, environmental initiatives and charitable fundraising. Organizers said in December that the festival's support for charities and good causes reached £4.2 million in 2025.
Festival co-organizer Emily Eavis previously confirmed that 2026 would be a traditional fallow year, with the official Glastonbury website stating that the break is intended to give "the farm, the village and the Festival team the traditional year off."
As Sunday's performances concluded, organizers shifted attention to the site's post-festival departure and cleanup operations. According to the official Glastonbury Festival website, the next edition of the festival is scheduled to take place at Worthy Farm from June 23 to June 27, 2027, following the planned fallow year in 2026.
