The record was set on July 10 during the annual BST Hyde Park festival, where thousands of attendees dressed in Pitbull's signature style of bald caps, white shirts, black ties and sunglasses. Guinness World Records said the gathering established the new record for the largest assembly of people wearing bald caps after officials verified participants through an adjudication process that included volunteers and aerial monitoring.
Pitbull, whose real name is Armando Christian Perez, accepted the Guinness World Records certificate backstage after the performance. According to Guinness World Records, the achievement was organized in partnership with BST Hyde Park and followed a social media campaign encouraging fans to take part in the coordinated tribute.
"The scenes down at Hyde Park were absolutely incredible," Guinness World Records adjudicator Will Munford said in a statement released by the organization, describing the turnout as evidence of the strong communities built around music fandom.
Pitbull thanked supporters during the concert, calling it "a blessing and an honour" to see thousands of fans participating in the event, according to Guinness World Records and media reports.
The record-setting participation came during a concert that also drew a near-capacity audience for the London festival. Organizers said the event underscored the growing role of coordinated fan activities at major live music performances, where audiences increasingly organize costume themes and other large-scale displays through social media before concerts.
Guinness World Records said the previous benchmark for the category had been substantially lower, with the new total surpassing 22,000 verified participants. The organization noted that official records are subject to its adjudication procedures and may be updated as new applications are certified.
The achievement adds to a series of Guinness-recognized milestones involving music events and performers, highlighting the increasing scale of audience participation at live entertainment gatherings. BST Hyde Park concluded the verification process with the record officially recognized by Guinness World Records, with no further changes to the result announced as of July 12.
