England manager Thomas Tuchel has acknowledged the challenge, saying his squad would have limited opportunity to acclimatize because of the tournament schedule and FIFA regulations governing team movements.
Aguirre has avoided portraying altitude as the deciding factor, instead emphasizing his team's unity and work ethic ahead of the knockout match.
"Our strength is the team," Aguirre said before the match, describing a squad built on selflessness and collective commitment rather than individual stars. He also highlighted the need for an organized defensive effort to contain England captain Harry Kane, whom he described as a world-class striker.

England have been preparing for the physiological effects of the altitude, with Tuchel acknowledging that players and staff experienced mild symptoms after arriving in Mexico City. Mexico enter the match unbeaten in the tournament and buoyed by strong home support at the Azteca, while England advanced after overcoming the Democratic Republic of Congo in the previous round. Officials have also prepared for large crowds around the stadium following widespread celebrations after Mexico's earlier victory over Ecuador.
The winner of Sunday's match will advance to the World Cup quarterfinals.
