NEW YORK — Major concert venues have resumed large-scale events after completing security reviews and operational assessments aimed at improving crowd management, entry procedures and emergency response plans, organizers and venue operators said as the live entertainment industry continued its 2026 schedule.
Several stadiums and arenas have announced updated safety measures following recent reviews, including expanded screening procedures, revised entry plans and closer coordination with local authorities. Venue operators said the changes were designed to address crowd flow, ticket verification and emergency preparedness before additional high-capacity shows take place.
The reviews come as artists continue international tours and major concert programs. Wembley Stadium, which is hosting large-scale performances in July, has issued audience safety guidance for upcoming shows, including restrictions on dangerous crowd behavior and instructions for fans on hydration and venue procedures.
Industry officials have increasingly focused on security planning after several recent incidents involving crowd movement and access control. At Yankee Stadium in New York, a Jay-Z concert was delayed after reports of a security breach and crowd-management problems outside the venue. The incident led to extended entry delays before the performance began, according to reports.
Venue operators and event organizers have not indicated that the reviews represent a broad suspension of concert activity. Instead, many have emphasized adjustments to existing safety systems, including coordination between private security teams, venue management and public authorities.
Large international events have also highlighted the importance of operational planning. SoFi Stadium in California reported successful crowd management during its 2026 FIFA World Cup matches, with venue officials citing preparation in areas including ticketing, crowd movement and facility operations.
Concert promoters have continued to implement measures such as controlled entry points, bag restrictions and advance communication with ticket holders. Organizers for BTS performances in Europe, for example, published detailed access instructions, including bag checks, metal detector screening and guidance on organized waiting areas.
Security reviews have also followed individual venue incidents. In Indonesia, authorities evaluated event procedures after crowd problems at a July concert in Surabaya, where officials said a review would examine event management and safety arrangements.
As of July 13, major concert schedules remain active, with venues continuing to operate under revised safety protocols. Organizers have said future adjustments will depend on venue assessments, local authority guidance and conditions at individual events.
