BHUBANESWAR— A passenger bus overturned in Odisha on Tuesday, leaving several people critically injured and prompting a large-scale rescue operation by emergency services, according to police and local authorities.
The accident occurred after the bus reportedly lost control and overturned on a roadway in the state. Police said multiple passengers sustained serious injuries and were transferred to nearby hospitals for specialized treatment, while others with less severe injuries received initial medical care at local health facilities. Fire service personnel, police officers and local residents took part in rescue efforts to remove passengers trapped inside the overturned vehicle.
